SHE’S DONE!
I got this BEAUTY of a hutch from a friend and I knew that I wanted to do something really special with it.
If you’ve been following along with my live videos, then you know I’ve been working on this beauty for a long time because nothing was really working out the way I intended. First I tried to keep it all pretty monochromatic, but that made it flat and uninspiring. Then I tried adding some more colors and people were telling me it looked like Christmas!
Fortunately for me, a trip to Paris interrupted my painting on this piece and I got to spend a week steeped in French culture, history, and art! It was probably one of the best things that could have happened to me (I’m learning how to be afraid and do things anyway!) AND the best thing to happen to this piece.
I mean… look at those gorgeous details!! It was impossible NOT to be inspired by France! I absolutely fell in love with their furniture and architecture and I knew exactly what to do with the hutch when I got home.
I renamed it the Parisian Blue Hutch and it’s one of my favorite pieces, which is why it’s going to continue living with me!
Ever since I posted this piece online, it’s gotten a lot of love on my Facebook page and, of course, from my friends and family. It’s such a hit that I decided to share my color recipe with you!
As always, I used all DIY paints to create this piece. (That Blue Iris just blows me away every time!)
