48″ x 48″ ‘Fields of Jubilance’ Framed

'Fields of Jubilance' Framed in a Gold Floater
48" x 48" An original mixed-media hand-painted artwork by Dionne Woods

There is something healing about standing in a field and realizing that nature is not rushing.

The flowers bloom when it is time.
The sun rises without striving.
The seasons unfold exactly as they were meant to.

As I created Fields of Jubilance, I found myself reflecting on the practices we return to that help us feel most alive. Some people have a yoga practice. Some have a gardening practice. Some journal, run, meditate, or spend time in prayer.

For me, this is one of those practices.

This painting was created entirely with my hands through my intuitive fingerpainting process. Every layer, mark, bloom, and pathway was formed through touch, movement, and presence. There is no brush separating me from the canvas. The process becomes a conversation—one that invites curiosity, freedom, and trust.

Stretching across the canvas, a luminous field of wildflowers reaches toward a soft horizon beneath an expansive sky. A gentle pathway winds through the blooms, inviting the viewer to slow down, wander, and notice the beauty that is already present.

The title, Fields of Jubilance, speaks to the quiet joy that can be found when we stop striving long enough to appreciate what is right in front of us. Not happiness that depends on circumstances, but a deeper sense of gratitude, wonder, abundance, and peace.

This original mixed media landscape is for the collector who values meaningful artwork, expressive floral landscapes, contemporary impressionist art, and pieces that tell a story beyond what is visible on the surface.

May it serve as a reminder that life is not only about reaching the destination. Sometimes the greatest gift is learning to stand in the field and recognize how much beauty is already surrounding you.
