This week, I connected with so many creative business owners, and I noticed a recurring theme—many were searching for fresh strategies, yet hesitant to embrace video marketing. As I painted and reflected on these conversations, one truth stood clear: In 2025, video isn’t optional; it’s essential.

Video is your most powerful tool for connection. It’s unmatched when it comes to sharing your authentic story and building genuine trust with your audience. Yet, many artists and creators tell themselves, “I’m not good on camera,” or “My work should speak for itself,” or “I just don’t have the time.” And while there may be truth in those feelings, remember—there’s always room to grow.

Trust me, I understand this hesitation deeply because I’ve been exactly there. But the moment I started consistently showing up on video, everything in my business changed. No social media post, email newsletter, or photograph could compare to the intimate and powerful impact of directly speaking to my audience—face to face, voice to ear. It was an absolute game-changer, creating a thriving community around my art and significantly boosting my own confidence in the process.

Why Video Works So Well
Video allows your audience to truly feel your energy, see the person behind the art, and understand the heart behind your business. In a world where genuine connection is the new currency, video builds engaged collectors, loyal customers, and a flourishing creative enterprise.

Your Challenge: Just Hit Record!
Start small—pick up your phone, hit record, and share your creative process, your “why,” or a work in progress. Let go of perfection; embrace authenticity. The more you practice, the easier it becomes, and the easier it becomes, the more your confidence grows.

Here are 3 simple steps you can start today:
- Video Journal for 60 Seconds Each Day:
- Record yourself sharing thoughts, feelings, or reflections about your creative day. This builds comfort and familiarity with speaking on camera.
- Share a Behind-the-Scenes Moment:
- Capture a quick glimpse of your creative workspace, process, or project and share it with your audience. This personal peek helps them feel connected to your journey.
- Create and Share a Short Introduction Video:
- Introduce yourself, your passion, and what your audience can expect from you. This builds trust and clearly defines your message.
During a recent workshop in my Creative Connection membership, I shared my approach to abstract floral painting. Watching my members embrace these new techniques and challenge themselves creatively inspires me every time. That’s the magic of video—it’s a bridge, allowing both you and your audience to grow together.

A Personal Invitation
As you step into your creative journey this year, I encourage you: Get in front of the camera and share your unique message with the world. No one else can deliver your story, your passion, and your heart the way you can.
Let’s make 2025 the year you shine through video.
